Max soloed CFO (finally)

After long preparations, collecting sos cards and unites and some practicing - MAX FINALY SOLOED CFO! WOOHOO!

I recorded the whole CFO battle with Fraps, from the cog/scelecog part I just left a bit as everyone probably knows it by heart, plus it is doable by anyone with a sufficient number of sos cards and unites. The crane part - I kept the whole of it in my video. Thats why also video is less good quality than my VP video, as I had to shrank 175 Megas down to 25 so that it could be possible to have it hosted by Putfile.

I also kept the craning part in its full lenght - just to show that even someoen like me who is not a super craner or stomper, can really make it, under the condition that you don't give up and persistent enough to go all the way. In my video you can also see my noobish craning mistakes and misses and a clumsy start , and few really stupid mistakes in the middle.. and yet I did it!

Hope my video will serve as some tips and inspirations not only for those want to attempt CFO solo, but also for anyone who has a cash suit, or about to have one.

Here are the cog/scele battle details, Max used:

Sos cards:
Flippy - 4
Bessy - 3
LOM - 1
Nancy Gas/Stinky Ned - 5
Prof Pet - 3

Unites:80tup - 1
Max tup - 3
Restock All - 2

In fact I noticed that soloing cogs/scelecogs as a dropless toon (and Max is dropless) requires more cards/unites comparing to a trapless toon (which is Rainbow). I used some TNTs though but after posing each TNT one gets hit back before using lure, which is not the case with drop gags .. but o well I had no choice.

Inspite of that Max has organic lure - I still had severall lure misses

All my sos cards hit. Bessy was a great card to use. All times I was using it when all cogs were lured and only one cog unlured. She was hitting ALL cogs, including lured ones. I was using her when I had rows of 12s and 11s. After the damage - lured cogs were still lured (thats the beauty of drop sos cards ) and I was just using horn after to finish them.

3d max tup unite was actually quite a waste - I used it when I was facing last two cogs, and decided to use it instead of endlessly calling a doodle.

And here is my video:

http://media.************/CFO-solo

as you will see I didn't start great , plus did many misses and mistakes during the craning and stomping, and yet made CFO surrender without using a single unite during the crane part!

I wanted to thank all my friends and players with whom I did sos shoping and VP and CFO runs in general which allowed me to collect sos cards and unites phrazes and practice craning as well!

And I want to express my speciall thanks to Mr Red Bull, who was supporting and encouraging me in my cfo solo, with whom we did several CFO duos and I could practice crane part solo. When Max was soloing cogs, Rainbow was swiming in DD, I whispred to Red Bull that I went for it finally and he said "I know you can do it. I'm sure you will do it!" That really gave me additionall strength and confidence! Btw Mr Red Bull is a better craner than me - he can for example do a multi-hit with a goon, whiles I can just throw a walking goon and manage sometimes hit twice maximum..

Enjoy the video , though it is quite long - 22 min, but I decided not to cut it as I thought might be interesting to watch it in whole, I also wanted to show that I'm not a "super toon", and that, once again, CFO solo is duable by anyone who is enough determined to go all the way in achieving his/her goal!

Good luck!

...oh yes, forgot to mention - reward was 20+ tup

Congrats!

As an organic lure grower for a 2 toon cfo on Saturday did you notice the lure not holding as long as it should?

Good job! But...

How do you guys do it? I was the last toon standing out of four (four went sad in cog round) in a doomed-from-the-start battle. I had gotten him red but just couldn't finish him off. It wasn't the goons that got me, I gave up because no matter how hard I tried, I could not hit him because he would throw gears and knock me off the crane every time. I even set up safes and goons in good positions so I could just pick up and throw but he would always get me. I even hopped off as he looked at me, let him throw the gears and then would hop right back on but he would still be staring right at me again, even if I switched cranes. I went on stomping goons, getting back on a crane and getting knocked right back off for a good 1/2 hour before getting too frustrated to go any further.

Edit: Great video! The last few minutes or so was exactly what I went through--safe off the head, knocked off by gears. Get back on, see safe on his head again. Manage to knock safe off just to get hit by gears again. Run around, stomp goons, knock safe off head again. Get hit with gears. lol over and over and over. Except I got too frustrated and never got a chance to get in that last shot that I needed--Grr!

Good job! You have much more patience than I...and you did the entire thing by yourself!

Way to go Tatiana!

You definetely have nerves of steel.

Thank you for sharing your solo with us thru your video. It gives people, like me, a chance to see what a good hit to the CFO looks like.

I guess we should all bow down to you. When did you originate the idea of solo'ing a boss fight? Just curious. I guess your screen name says it all.

Anyway, great job Max. Your craning and goon stomping look great. And the video was very exciting.

ROFL doc - I wondered about that too!

Congratulations to Max - great job! Was fun to watch the video and as someone said, kinda nerve wracking each time your laff went down, even though I knew what the outcome was going to be.

Well done!

A tip I got from some of the best at craning was to keep moving and changing cranes. Another key which I've learned from being last standing many times is to time the CFO's gear throw and decoy him to throw at a spot off the crane. While your stomping or finding a crane with a well positioned safe wait until he locks in on your position and the run to the crane. It gives you 10 seconds or so without having to worry about the gears. If all is lined up well you have time to knock the safe off and hit him with a goon after from the same crane. If not you knock the safe off at one crane and run to another, hopefully stomping a goon near the second crane.
