Question CFO and Laff Increase?

Hi Everyone, I'm sure the answer to this question is posted here already, but I did a search and couldn't find specifics. I know you get up to 5 point Laff Increases when defeating the CFO. I have heard you get them during the Robber Barron promotions. I am currently a lvl 8 Number Cruncher. Can anyone tell me at what points you get the laff increases. Would be much appreciative. Thanks: Super Sadie

You get them at RB 15, RB 20, RB 30, RB 40 and RB 50.

Good luck

Cashbot HQ Cogbucks

The bolded numbers (starting with level 14) are the ones where you get a laff boost once you promote from it. ie, level 14, you get your bucks, ready for promotion, you go into CFO, win, you promote to 15 and get a laugh point. Basically what Lady Lily Petalswirl said, just that's when you actually get the boost (unless it's different from VP).

With that list you can also see what you have to look forward to.. The misery of the buck collectings.

Enjoy.

P.S. The bolded amounts are to show each time you need the highest number of cog bucks, but the first one, as a friend calls it, is the 'freebie', meaning that you do all the work for nothing since you don't get a boost from it. After that though, each 8900 suit will earn you the boost after the next successful run.

Hi Wolfeh, Thanks for the info. good to know when and "How". PHEW! I got a "Long" way to go! Right now i'm grabbing for laff points anywhere I can. All my tasks are completed, so I've been fishing, racing, gardening, and fighting Cog HQ for those last few precious Laff Boosts. They really want you to work hard for those. You gotta really want it! Well, I do! So it doesn't really matter, I'm in it for the long haul. I'll get there eventually. The thing I love most about TT is there are no cheats, you have to earn every inch of progress, and that makes every inch of progress exciting and rewarding. Thanks: Super Sadie

Thanks to Lady Lily Petalswirl too. She gave you the short answer to what you wanted to know, which is what some people are more than happy with getting. I just gave the little extra for those who like to know the little extra and happen to read this thread.

There are cheats.

Racing - race with a friend. Take turns winning. VERY helpful for doing the tourny races, because then you each take turns winning each tourny (3 tracks each), so you each get points for a swept win. There are ways to cheat in that too, but let's go for what I'll call "legal cheats".

Cheat in the trolley games - same thing - friend lets you win. Purpose? None really, unless one or both of you need a few extra beans, don't have unites and don't want to fish for them.

Fishing - not really cheating but first grab the check list, then 2nd, do NOT upgrade your fishing pole until you have caught every species possible for your existing pole.

Gardening - same deal, grab the checklist. You'll know what combinations to plant. Take turns watering gardens, can help boost the watering can up faster. Use other your other toons to create gardens and then water those gardens too.

Merits/Bucks/Notices - hit during invasions (usually Nutty River but in a few other districts too) you get double points. Not really a cheat but your work is cut in half.

Gag points - in the tips/tactics forum there are a few posts about how to get the most gag points out of a cog. I don't follow it religiously, but it is VERY useful in learning how to squeeze those few extra points out of a cog to progress faster.

Tasks - try to get tasks that you can complete while doing the same thing (ie, one is to defeat sellbots, another is to defeat level 4+ cogs, another is to defeat 3+ story buildings, you can defeat 3+ story sellbot buildings and knock out all 3 at once).

CFO - not a cheat but a strategy and on topic - if you are a gooner/stomper, stay near the hatch. Goon comes out, hop on his head just before his light comes on. Goon gets stunned, craners have a central spot to grab the goons from to hit the cfo with. Don't stay there at all costs though. Only while things are running smooth because it helps speed things up. If help is needed elsewhere, then go there to help.

Mints - again a strategy - avoid doing 2fog + 2trunks. Instead do 1fog + 3trunks. Yeah your group will take a hit (or 2), but then you toonup and another trunk will do the trick. Instead of using all 12 fogs for 6 sets of cogs (and there are more than 6 sets of cogs), you have enough to hit 12 sets of cogs. (Only use 2fog + 2trunk if it's all 11's. But any 10's, only 1 fog) Lasts longer.

There are cheats in the mints, which have become slightly harder to trigger, but using them you can skip a few sets of cogs if you either need only a few bucks or need the supervisor more than anything.

Smile

There are cheats.

HUM!! Interesting tidbits, and very informative. Some I knew about, but have considered them to be more of a "strategy" than a cheat. Some I haven't heard of before, which is maybe why its taken me sooooo long to complete all my "Tasks". Anyway, thanks for the info. although I still think that compared to some other popular games I have played, the "Cheat" ability is minimal. I have utilized cheats in those games and they were cool at first, but they always took the fun and challenge right out of it. Ultimately resulting in my loss of interest. "Strategy" yeah, I like the sound of that much better . Thanks: Super Sadie
