Why do some toons disappear in the elevator?

And it's always with the high toons such as Mr. Hollywoods.
We'll be in the elevator and one person might of stepped out the last minute so everyones in a frenzy. But then somehow some toons "disappear"
i want to know how they do this, and where do they go?

they alt out because they think the SOS card is bad because they are with cold callers.

If they disappear in the elevator then they are pressing ALT+F4 which causes TT (or any other program) to shutdown immediately. I some cases the toon could have lost connection.

As stated in the previous post there are many reasons toons may do this:

1) Some toons no matter how bigger will only attempt with a full elevator.
2) Maybe they had a friend and got seperated.
3) Toons may have jumped at the last minute and left the group really short.

many many other reason.....

Question.. How can they tell what the SOS card is if they're on the elevator?

Ok the correct answer to the question, as coolwinkydoggendoodle stated, is that they are ALT-F4'ing out of there (or clicking the big X to quit TT). They do this for a number of reasons. I'll do it myself, for these reasons:

1) I somehow got stuck on the elevator with almost no one else on there. Not 8? Oh well. Not 7? Oh well. Anything less than 6? I'm outta there, unless they're friends and we did that on purpose.

2) A friend didn't make it on despite multiple attempts.

3) Some other out of the usual circumstance.

There is an exception to this. If it's a CCG run, then once those doors close, I stay, period. Why? Because it's their rules. If I'm going to go with CCG to gain the benefits of runs organized by them, then I believe it's a fair expectation to follow their rules of play. If during the final fight I am down to only a few laff, things are looking down with no hope of recovery, then I will likely exit then too. However if I'm that low but there appears to be hope of victory (hopefully for me, but more importantly for the team), then I'll try to stay as long as toonunly possible.

There is also an elevator bug. You load with 8 but during the elevator ride it looks like one toon vanished. But then when the doors open, 8 stroll out. Once in a while it looks like the missing toon is floating in the air.

I have also seen this happen with more than one missing during the elevator ride, then once we get to the top everyone is there.

Not really true at all... I ussually get bessies with cold callers, ofcourse this is probably just a mere coincidence. I ussually cant make it to cog round of a vp with randoms for some reason I disconnect before I even get to see what sos it is. I already am having alot of problems with my computer and disconnection so I think being in a full district where it's all laggy it makes teh chances of me discoing more likely. For example, tonight it took me 6 tries to vp with randoms before I didn't disco.

On topic people press alt f4 to disapear or disconnect. When they do that it closes the screen so they basically ran before they could get killed by the v.p.

Many different things

On hw50 run took a bunch of times. I wanted screen shots the minute I hit f9 boom I got kicked. There is also sos shoppers that goes to busy districts with no regard that they are going to possibly disco on a group. I know who some of them are so I won't go with them at all. I make it a point to let other toons know that there is something wrong with these toons. It is hard to convince sometimes as they are holly 50's also and very high laff. Some toons catch on. But other than this still the list is endless of how they disappear and sometimes like someone said sometimes they aren't gone. A weird glitch...

Wolfeh you are correct so I have deleted my original post.

But to the original poster of this thread I still recommend going with the CCG.

Here is their run time schedule:

yes this happens when one toon laggs - then he/she might dissapear in the elevator, appear in the sky during cog round - and then either totally disconnect or make it to scele round.

But don't expect that toon to be very participative, due to the lag he won't pick gags at right moments , if ever he will pick any... so if you see a toon missing in the elevator - consider your team to be "-1"

BTW you know I noticed the same thing - I have an impression to get bessys, or other 5 str cards, much more often with low suits than with higher ones. I think it happens too frequent , to just be a simple coincidence!

Then of course it is tough sometimes to get through scele part without loosing at least part of the team. But with a good teamwork and guidence, or when game puts at least one high laffer on eachside of scele round all toons make it!

On some of the boss elevators, I've noticed another phenomenon happening. A toon will appear to have vanished, but if you look close you'll see their 'name tag' off to one side, but its often mixed amongst the other 'name tags'. My guess is that they have gone into the gray while the elevator is 'moving', because when the battle starts, they're right back where they should be. So far, no one's alt-F4ed out because of it, and I'm glad, because there's still a full elevator. This just started with some of the recent updates, and I believe is similar in cause to the infamous 'lost in the gray' situation that toons in the DA are experiencing between floors.

Actually, I noticed this from the first day law came out. I would've never thought the toons were there if it weren't for the fact that I knew some of the invisible toons.

How do you do this?
Just as the elev. door opens, you can spy the shop keeper in the cage and read the green words of the shop keepers name. The eagle eye spotter in your group says "Run" or whatever code word you want, and all the toons who opt for the ALTF4 method of SOS shopping, bail.
I just went on a VP run and the first sign of the caged toon is AFTER everyone is off of the elevator.

yes, in fact, the initiator of a thread was asking about toons dissapearing IN the elevator, during the elevator ride - not after.

Actually, toons who vanish because of "wrong" sos card on regular VP runs are VERY rare nowadays, as there are many organized sos shoping runs between friends and scheduled ones on different forums.
