Bad, bad bad CFO today. (Couldn't post earlier to get my rage out, page was dead)

It was with the CCG, and of course I went sad. First off, here is why:

Okay, skelecog battle... great. I'm lagging HORRIBLY, and I finally got in
the battle. There was a bunny on my side, and two evil cats. One cat
was a small toon and red, wearing tye-dye clothes and at laff 121.
They were all using sound, and since I was on my mouse, Little Trixie,
i could not join them. I am soundless, and wanting to be proud.
Cats: "Let's use sound!"
Me: "Sorry, I can't." "Sorry!"
Red Cat: "Good greif."
I am SICK AND TIRED of saying sorry.
Okay, since im lagging like REALLY bad, i miss two rounds because i froze
up.
Cats: "Let's use toon-up!" They were all using sound.
Of course, I was lagging. So I missed the round.
Red cat: "Good greif."
Red cat's sf: "Are you knew here?" (119 laff)

I am young AND VERY VERY sensetive, and I can't help that. So I'm already mad at my family, so I get on TT, and someone makes me ANGRY. I punched a dang dent into the wall right next to me, and of COURSE I got into trouble for that. I am SICK AND TIRED of saying "Sorry, I can't, Sorry!" To everyone! I thought the CCG didn't greif you, I thought they were awesome with soundless... but NO. I was angry when we went into the CFO battle thing, I was shaking really bad, trying to keep my anger in. This was my second attempt to get in, so it was really hard for me to understand everything.
I was at 30 laff, and when I went for a treasure, some duck says "That wasn't nice!" so I quit getting treasures in fear that someone would get angry again. I died, just to save treasures for the other toons. So mainly,
I'm angry at those cats, and I really want them to post in this thread WHY they were being so rude and mean and not understanding what it is like to
be soundless and have a slow computer. I also hate the fact that others
stink you if you get a treasure, and I really want to win my next CFO... but I can't do that if everyone is going to greif me... for the trillionth time.

Yeah, lag is a very horrible thing and I can see why you can get agitated. Next time, I just suggest if your lagging too badly; just to log off and not go. I get lag problems just like you. Some people even in CCG, sometimes might just be havigna bad day just like you; so they'll grief. It's not your problem, just tell them once: Sorry, I can't! If they don't get it the first time, then something is wrong with them, not you. If you want, you can suggest, let's use lure! And when you miss toon-up times jsut say Sorry, I was delayed after the second time it happened. They might understand, they might not. Their loss! In the CFO battle (with the cranes), and people are stinking you just shake it off. You were pretty low, if you were at 70 then say Oops! Sorry!

There's really no right or wrong answer. You can't blame people for getting mad cause they don't know that you are lagging...or you could just be just hangin' out and letting them do all the work.

You were lagging. But they have no way of knowing that...

If I lag and miss a turn or two, I always say something like this, "Sorry, I was delayed", ":-(", "I'm stuck", "Oof!", "Sorry". Something like that usually gets the message across.

Sorry to read this. I am very surprised that you got those reactions in a CCG CFO. I never saw someone acting that way. I am quite sure these werent the regular CCG people but some kind of "tourists".
Its really mean that they didnt toon you and were angry when you grabbed the treasures. I wonder who these people were....

I know that the lagging can be horrible. I also was in CFO's were one toon wasnt reacting for several rounds and that we all thought he/she discod. But then after some time that toon picked a gag. Again nothing for 2 rounds and so on. But the 3 of us decided to play as if we were with only 3. But we have never been mean to that person.

Dont worry about being soundless. I'd rather admire you soundless toons for getting through the mints and factories. Sad to hear that there are still a lot of people that start flipping when there is someone without sound. Don't they know that there are other, even less boring, ways to kill the cogs.

Feel free to come again to a CCG CFO or VP. I'm glad to take you through!

Same thing happened to me yesterday when i was cjing and i saw lagging soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad i felt like i was new cause i had to stay a wait to calm down a little bit. everyone was mad at me especially when there are 105s and im 112 and they are kinda new. so they all just think im stupid and making them go sad. the only thing different about mine was that i lived by 12 points. i would have died the hammer was 1 cm away from me but threm we won.

Griefers are grieving. Go figure.

I've noticed that ever since Gardening came out, the memory usage for TT seems to skyrocket.

At first everything is fine, but then after awhile, your hard drive is constantly being accessed. If you use TaskManager, the memory usage will be low at first but then can and will get into the GB of usage. If you don't understand this, that's fine.

Here's what you do. IF things start out fine, but then after an hour, movement seems choppy, with spurts of smooth play, look at your computer. Is the hard disk light on almost non stop? More than likely it is.

EXIT out of TT. Then when you can, restart TT. If you are able to get back into the same district and everything seems fine, then it was the memory problem. There has already been a confirmed problem of a memory leak, but this seems to be way worse.

If you try it and it proves to solve the problem, then what I recommend is that you exit and restart TT before any vp/cfo/cj run if you've been playing for 30 or more minutes.



As for the way they acted, from their perspective, you may have been a total idiot, and that can be frustrating. Next time you are lagging, say "I'm stuck" and "I was delayed" etc. It's not your fault and if you try to let them know that you're lagging, then as soon as you are able to play again, they'll appreciate it.

As for being soundless, just ignore them. Yes, I prefer and like it when everyone I'm with is maxed on sound, but it's not about me. It's about the team. Here's what you do.. Use lure (yes, I said lure). Then they can use sound. 3 fogs against a group of 12's will bring them down so that the next round, 3 juggle (toonup), 1 elephants. Everyone gets tooned up and the 12's are gone.

The lure for the first round will almost guarantee the fogs will hit, so that they are not wasted because of a miss. In fact it's a good strategy that if you have to, use a round to do at least 100+ sound damage to the cogs, then the next round, lure+toonup, then the 3rd, you can take them out 2 at a time with level 5 gags, saving the level 6's.

Just remember that so that you can play that way with those who do sound. Yes, it's nice to waste the cogs/skelecogs away with a single shot, but sometimes you have to weaken them and then take them out. It's no big deal really, since it IS just a game.



As for the presents, if you are almost full laff, and you see someone running around getting presents, click on them. If they're real low, let them go first. If not, then I say it's fair game. If you're 25% or below of your laff, get what you can ASAP. If you're below 50%, try to get it back up but try to see if someone else needs it more first. But push come to shove, if you need it deperately, you take it. If someone else doesn't like it, then tough, they can deal with it.

I dont think anyone was griefing you. I've lagged too, and trust me its a horrible feeling, having to pass every round, no one likes that feeling. But, you cannot blame them for saying that, like CCE said. Im sure you would have acted similarly in some cases, next time try letting them know that you are lagging. Sorry that that, just know that not every CFO happens like that, everything happens for a reason.

Well, of COURSE I wasn't sitting there making them read my mind!
I just said "Sorry, I was delayed." "I'm stuck." "Sorry!"
But no, they had radther get angry. "Let's use toon-up!" they would
say, I would try to click on the button, but I was lagging so bad I couldn't use
it, so once again they said "Good greif." "Are you knew here?"
Plus the main reason I'm mad is because they got mad at me for not
having any sound, a stopped lagging after missing five rounds.... So
I felt really un-useful. But next time I'm going to lead myself,
and use the best stragety I can. I'm not using toon-up, they didn't
even need but 10+ -_-

Im sure you would have acted similarly in some cases, next time try letting them know that you are lagging.

Ummm.... actually... not really. I always say "No problem." Even it is a problem, I don't get all mean and rude. And I
did let them know, they just didn't accept it.

The CFO on Saturday/Sunday was at 12:15am. You posted at 12:07am.
