When to use walk in battle

I was in a VP this evening and two of the toons used the walk-in-battle glitch with a full vator-load of toons. I have maxxed toons and know the glitch, and know how to help the glitching toons, but some of the other toons were quite confused by the glitchers running around during battle - let alone the pie fight. I know the glitch is fun, but please use it with SFs and FRs who know what yer doing. The whole battle took much longer than it should have - and I don't think anyone was really impressed by the glitch (confused maybe).
