well , you know I had that at first "29" But grabed a calculator and divided 291 into 5500 answer rounded off to 19. Maybe my memory of 291 for a factory run was under the old invasion system.

It might have been, because a full factory run use to be 194 merits, not 291.

They definitely were. I'm not sure what triggered them, but your chances of being in the right district when one went off were slim. They didn't always happen in the 'heavy' districts, like Kookytown. They were either set off by a random trigger, or someone at Disney just decided to launch one from time to time. The constant invasions now are a blessing to those needing merits. Just 300 merits to go for my HW 49, then my last 5500 merit run awaits. Bring on the invasions!

Danny is right. Under the old system a full factory gave 194 merits, so that into 5500 gives you 29 runs. The first two 5500 merit runs I did were under that system. *shudder*.

All of mine were. You young pups don't know how good you have it! I remember staying up all night with a friend so he could get his 5500 merits to attend a HW50 party. It took an entire day/night to do it, and we made the Top Toons list that day for merits earned and most cogs defeated.

I just earned my third set of 5500 merits last night, and I was shocked! I couldn't believe how fast it went.


Question: When there is an invasion, the cogs don't change in the factory. But do the merits double? That would explain it.

Back under the old system that was the best way, assuming you could find them. Now, a short factory run gives about the same amount of, if not more, merits as a 5 story building (240), and a full factory beats buildings hands down.

Actually the first merit system made hollywoods have to earn 10,000 merits everytime they wanted to VP. Thats 10,000 every level of Holly initially from 8 to level 12 then afterwards up to level 50. A full factory run if done the right way yielded 644 merits. So you new generations of toons really dont know how good you actually have it. Myself and a number of other toons actually did make it to holly 50 at 10,000 merits for every vp run. Today with all the invasions, multiple headquarters and so on you guys have it really easy. When we needed minglers and big wigs, we had to search in buildings as our only option for finding them. Thats why the older toons were fully maxed on all gags at 100 laff. Recently I saw a 112 toon still needing to max 3 different gags. The reason for this is we went into many buildings not finding any minglers or wigs, while you guys find them on the first try.
