Everyone is new to something and we just have to be patient and understanding. Elevator D is the hardest out there and most ppl who go in it, I don't think are too willing to be patient nor understanding due to the amount of Jury Notices they need. I for one am a non DA Office toon... for now. |

Lucky you!
Quote:
You are Lucky! I guess when it opened you are amongst the bottom feeders and none of them were big wigs. Everyone goes in with anybody. Now... Cuz Big Wigs are around, it's getting pickier. Unlucky for us, we could not play for 2 and half weeks right when it just opened. |

I normally go with anyone. All Bottom Feeders or a mix. With all Bottom Feeders the CJ is supposidly easier and I think that's true. So I have NO PROBLEM going with a losw suit...DA's are a totally different story however. I'm not going to go with you if you don't have 105 laff and most gags maxxed.

if u attempted to do a puzzle that u could not do, most ppl would get mad.noramllay u should instinctvley leave it to more experiecend players. if u didnt wait for an invasion when ppl told u to and u enterd clerk, ppl would also get mad.(ppl have attempted to kill me for accidently doing this next time they see me). if u didnt do any of these, i dont think any one should be mad at u for any reason, expect maybe u went with some impatient toons and u started doing werid stuff they didnt like. laff doesnt make u a newb. its the way u play and the way u act that ppl can tell wherter ur a noob or not. u can be a 50 laugher and not be a newb. |

I was one of the toons
Quote:
The reasons I wanted out 1. We were on Floor 0. 2. Did you say, "Sorry I can't" or anything at the puzzle? No. 3. I did the other puzzle and was watching you on your side, it was the match three puzzle. Which is quite simple. 4. Did you stand back to watch to see how it was done? No. 5. On the match three game you set off the cogs. This means we still have five more floors to risk you doing that again. We could have a total of four more or six more puzzles, depending, since I already did one puzzle. 6. We select sound, and you select lure. So, you successfully lured the cogs but our two ellies and one foghorn were used up and did nothing. Other than give the cogs another shot at us. So, we just used up a foghorn that we like to use. So, now I have to decide. Do I want to risk a long run in Floor D with an inexperienced toon with all of us being random toons? None of us were SFS or even friends. I had never played with any of the toons before. If you were an SF with one of the others, then I knew it would be a training run. Because they would have been talking with you. That was not the case. I decided it would be better for me to bail on this run. So, I am the toon that said "Let's go back to the playground." And the 122 was the first to go. Sorry about bailing, but that is why I did it. My advice 1. If you have not done a puzzle before, stand back and watch. Typically, I will do the easy puzzles and glitch the hard puzzles. Some other toons will glitch all the puzzles. Some toons will do all the puzzles. 2. Try to not FIGHT any puzzle cogs. That is the goal. If you can't glitch, let someone else in your party glitch. 3. Use two fogs and two ellies on the four cogs in the rooms. The two level 11s, and the two level 10s. This is optimal. Makes it fast. Your team of toons should rotate this. I foghorn on Floor 0, 2, and 4. Hopefully, one other toon will also fog with me. The other two toons are supposed to fog on Floors 1, 3, and 5. 4. When in the elevator room with the level 12 in it, I hypno goggle the first three floors. Unless someone else wants to. That way I hope for a hypno goggle restock to refresh me. 5. From here the strategy is harder to explain. For me, I like to take out the level 12 or the two middle cogs. Since I hypno goggle I do not choose to much. If someone else goggles, I always select a birthday cake on the level 12. I hope my partners will either select piano, dynamite, or another birthday cake with. But people sort of just do it randomly. Pixanator can now rip me as we know each other. And any other toon, send your PMs quick, because my mailbox is going to be full soon.

See, I wasn't there and had no idea the full story, so that's why I said someone being new, I would be understanding.. because we all were... HOWEVER, I am not one to run up to something I've no idea what to do, since 99% of the time with me being new to something I always have the pleasure of going with someone who has already done this and when I'm new I always say "Are you new here?" and I reply "Yes." that way those that I'm with know to help guide me and give me knowledge of what to do. There are times tho... when conversation of what is needed, is said first and if someone purposely does something... I can tell you what to expect of me. If I say I need merits and someone runs ahead and kills just 1 cog, I'm going back to the playground because that person has just shown me what I'm up against and I will tell the group "This isn't what I'm looking for" and I'll open up my book and crawl into my black hole and find another group to go with. (which is what I did last night in the factory) After reading Crimson's explanation... I can honestly tell anyone who is new to anything to watch and learn from ppl who aren't new and know what to do. I can also tell anyone that Crimson is a highly experienced player, knowledgable and if you were to have any questions on any part of Toontown you could ask him and he would give you some very good advice. He's a thinker and he finds a strategy that works, not just for him but for his teammates. |

Good strategy!

I should add, however, that I will attempt to glitch all the puzzles at this point. Yeah, they were fun the first couple of times we did the DA, but the novelty wore off rather quickly. If I am with someone who hasn't done them and I know it, I'll back off the glitching so they can do the puzzles, but otherwise, if I'm with experienced players whom I'm sure have already been on countless DA runs, I see no reason to risk having to use fogs on hologram cogs so a person can do minesweep for the 101st time. Also, now that many of us are dealing with doing multiple DA runs to get all our jury notices in order to do the CJ, the quicker we can get through the DA, the better--glitching past all the puzzles is the quicker route. On test, elevator D runs were taking upwards of an hour...they routinely take about half that time now when glitching past the puzzles and double-fogging the Skelecog groups. Also, I did an elevator C run the other night with two other experienced players (three of us, total), and am pleased to report that we did the run in about 15 minutes. |
