My Mood:
It's just plain LUCK everyone!

I fished for 17 hours straight yesterday in an attempt to catch at least ONE of the last 2 fish I need. Well unfortunately I didn't get either one. I've been fishing every day for the last 5 months for these 2 last fish and I know that I have caught a LOT of fish in that time. After yesterday I started to wonder if the fishing task is truly luck after all. Today I engaged with a live chat representative at Toontown and this is how the conversation went:

The initial submission was :
I know you can't tell me how the fishing game works but....can you at least tell me if it is a cumulative bucket or fish count that determines when the next fish is caught? If it is simply random or luck then it would be posible that some toons would never catch all of the species. I can't believe that Disney would design a kid/family game that would not offer equally attainable goals for all players. I have been fishing daily for 5 months now to catch the last 2 fish (Full Moon and Grand Piano).I fished for 17 hours straight yesterday (almost 8,000 fish) and that was very dificult to endure. When you fish all of the time, you exclude yourself from playing the game of Toontown and interacting with your friends. If I know that(like racing) you have to catch a certain amount of fish (or racing trophies) to get the next reward, then I will keep fishing. If it is random or luck, I will not waste any more time on the fishing task. I simply refuse to spend so much time on a task that I may never be able to complete. Please help!

ROBERTO:Hello Doug
DOUG:Hi Roberto
ROBERTO:It is a weighted random game
DOUG:Can you explain?
ROBERTO:With more fish more likely to be caught in certain ponds, with certain rods, or wiht certain weights.
DOUG:So I need luck to be at the right pond at the right time?
ROBERTO:Pretty much.
DOUGo districts make any difference?
ROBERTO:Little if anything, but that is not something I know.
ROBERTO:I would suggest fishing in the 'harder' neighborhoods.
ROBERTO:Like the Brrrgh
ROBERTOr Dreamland
DOUG:I live in Donalds Dreamland with a gold rod
DOUGo certain species get released at certain times of day?
ROBERTO:Not that I know of, if you are not having success where you are I would try the pond at your estate along with other neighborhoods.
DOUG:So there are no ponds that are more likely to have Full Moons than other?
ROBERTO:I do not know.
DOUG:Well it appears that it is luck so I will let the fishing thing go then. It's not worth it. Thanks for the help Roberto
ROBERTO: Thank you for choosing Toontown Chat support, and have a Toon-erific day!
DOUG:Thanks, I'm going to go eat some FISH for dinner now.
ROBERTO:Lol, I think that what the fisherman do.
ROBERTO: We look forward to seeing you soon in Toontown!

So I guess it's just luck everyone. I will go back to playing the game of Toontown with my friends and fish in between in case I get lucky. Good luck to everyone with the fishing
