Hi! I'm Evil Yoshi Fan, here to help you newbies find your way around.
If this is the first Forums/Messenger Boards you've been to, this might be a good place to start your look.

Here's some very (Or at least some) detailed information about each item.

User Control Panel - Where you fill in certain details about yourself and sorta "Decorate" your profile. This contains all the links to edit your profile, and your "Subscripted threads," We'll get into that later. First, I want to tell you about each link.

Avatars - They're the little icons you see beside someone's User Name. To get one yourself, find a picture that's on your computer, go to your User_Control_Panel (Otherwise known as the User CP at the top with the safe next to it. Or, you can click on "Quick Links" and find "User CP.") When you get there, you'll see a series of avatars there that you can choose. If you upload avatars from your computer, make sure that they're smaller than 64 x 64 pixels, or 20.0 KB.

Edit Profile - Click on this to enter the place where you fill details about yourself and put other things. The first item you will see is "Custom User Title." Don't like that old "Registered User" under your Username? Really boring, huh? You can type whatever you want (As long as is stays in the Guidelines). Next you'll see "Birthdate" where you can put your birthday. If you're young or just don't want people to see your age, you can click "Hide birth and age." If you want to just show your birthday but not age, just leave the Year part blank. I'm pretty sure the whole thing's disabled anyway, so...yeah. Now you can put your favorite website or your own in the space labeled "Homepage."
"Instant Messenging" I'm pretty sure you guys know what these are. Messeger Screen Names, such as AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. You can put those in the blanks. You'll see a HUGE place below where you can put up to two toons and their information such as Gags, Laff, etc. If you have more than 2 toons there's a space below where you can put their names and maybe a little bit of information. There's then four more spaces, the first is User Pages (We'll talk in a bit about that), Nintendo DS chat codes, where you put Nintendo DS Chat Codes in. Location, where you put the state or country you live in (NOT your town!). Interests is where you put your hobbies, favorite things to do, et cetra.

Woooh, big paragraph there

Edit Options - Pretty much a place where you put if you want to receive e-mail from Users, Administrators, set your date and time, etc. It pretty much explains it ALL there.

Profile Picture - It's a picture that will be in your profile as a little "Decorative" hit on it. It can be no bigger than 180 x 200 pixels, and size must be 90.0 KB or less.

Private Messages, or PMs - These are sometimes little messages only for you, either it be a secret friend code, or a question they want to ask you not in "Public" (G-rated, please!) You can send and receive messages.

Quote - If someone says something that catches your attention, or you have a question about what they said, you may want to use their information in your post. Look at their post, and in the right hand corner, press the "Quote" button to have their post quoted.

You can also create quotes, copy something from another site, copy it into your post and press the button that says "Wrap [quote] tags"

Posts - What your looking at right now. When inside a thread, you'll see a lot of these most times. It's what people make for other people to read. Click "Add Reply" at the top or bottom of a thread to post.

Threads - Topics about a certain subject. Again, what you clicked on to get here. Make sure threads go in the right place. If you have a topic about Maple Story, post it in the "Maple Story Street" forum. If you have a topic that doesn't go in anything else, just sorta off topic, post it in the "Off Topic" forum (Gee, that's a little obvious, right?)

Forums - Place where you put specific threads. There's a Toontown forum, Maple Story forum, Virtual Magic Kingdom forum, Off Topic forum, Stories forum, etc.

Smilies - I'm sure you know what these are. They are:

There are tons of them here! They may be cool (And I hope this stops some of it) and stuff, but there is a rule in this forum saying "Excessive Smileys," Be sure to limit your smilies to about 1-6, depending on the size of it.

Stickies - Threads that are very important or have great value to other users. If stickied, it stays at the very top of the forum, so not to get lost, and Users will notice it more. If you make a thread though, and ask for it to be stickied, it will most likely not.

Administrators - Leaders of the Messenger Boards. Nick, is an administrator, and creator of these boards. He needs to pay around 200 dollars every month, so he needs all the donations he can get.

Moderators, or Mods - They pretty much moderate the site. They have a pink colored User Name, and can edit, delete, move threads, if it's their's or not. Mods you'll be seeing a lot are Batleth, CBD, and Rattlebones.

You can see a whole list of the Moderators and Administrators at this URL:
http://www.toontowncentral.com/forums/showgroups.php

Signatures - See that line on someones post and below it has pictures and sometimes funny things on it? They don't type it, it automaticly comes during every post (Unless they choose to not have it there) You need to pay around 2$ a month for them (20$ a year)

User Pages - Like 83 cents per month or something, they're a little (Somethimes HUGE!) pages dedicated all to one User. Of course, that user creates the page and puts whatever they want (Remember G-rated)

Okay, my hand's REALLY tired, I've been typing for about 30 minutes... (Stopping every now and then to figure out what to type, and I make so many darn typos!)

If you have any question about what I typed or about something else, post or PM me. I'm open to any question you need help on.

Hope this guide helps,

Evil Yoshi Fan
