Yes, to your question about getting trophies ONLY in toon battling.
Either Circuit City track will get you the required amount of trophies: 1, 10 and 100 wins and qualifies. This goes with the other 2 tracks.
The bottom row is for the Grand Prix, but we're all hoping the Grand Prix counts towards the 2 top rows.

well it's not strictly true. I got some trophies yesterday, including trophy number 30, when I wasn't even the first one to finish the race. Totally confused now. How is it possible?
And I've got some trophies for practice races too.
So, if understand correctly, you get some trophies for practice (qualifying races, not just the ones that say "toon battles") and some for actual battles. When you collect them all you get 3 points laff, right?
