The best guess I can make about the pattern the gears come out of the undercarriage, is 3 left to right, then another 3 right to left. So if you get hit on the first time the gears come out switch to the other side and you should be good for 2 pie stuns, then switch to the other side.
There is a place you can stand and not get hit, just off to the side, then you have to move a little to the middle and forward to get a quick pie hit in to stunn. The problem is the VP is always moving either forward or back so it is hard to stay in the right spot.
