My suggestion? Next time you are ready for VP, go alone. Then, when the VP asks, "huh? toons in disguise?" tell him this story to prove to him how much you would really rather be a cog.
Oh, and don't forget to mention how fun you found it! Then, laugh evilly at whatever toon the VP has in the cage. Ask them to come to your house so that you can trap them in the grey.
Once the VP sees and hears this, I am sure you will be allowed to keep the suit and fight toons on the street, where the meanness belongs.
