How do I help someone in VP?

Hello everyone. I don't normally post threads (or reply to any much either), I'm just not very good at communicating. But I was wondering how do I help someone who is new in the VP. Last night, I had a toon who is on my friend's list who was either going in for the first time or who hasn't made it all the way yet who didn't seem to have a clue about what to do. His laugh level I think is 50. He kept running back under the cage when he got hit, so I'm guessing he thought that would either help fill his life or maybe he thought he needed to refill his pie? I kept trying to tell him No, but he kept going back. Then I spent alot of time trying to tune him up, but he just kept running around all over the place. He wound up going sad. The thing is, I couldn't figure out how to help him understand what he needed to do. Any ideas on how to get the idea across to a child? I'm assuming he is a child from the way he plays. That's why I haven't taken him off my list even thoough sometimes (ok, alot of times) he drives me crazy. I just can't figure out how to help him in there. Thanks for any advice you guys may have.
