Even if you are not allowed to use the chat feature to talk to others, you can still type things for the picture. Simply type ... first and the words will stay on the screen until you type something else or close the box.

If you are willing to take the risk that your picture isn't selected for the poll, but your friend's is - then it will be okay because if we have two pictures that are the same only one could be selected for the final poll.
