I have told my sons that the ATTA events are adult only, and my son has some friends in the ATTA and they tell him "adult only". I'm perfectly okay with that, and so are the boys. The way I cover it (to explain why one KOATTA member has been attending some events and posting it) is that I tell them we prefer only adults to come along at those times, but we can't (and wouldn't want to) stop anyone from attending who wants to attend. So they understand that we'd rather them not be there even though that final decision is left up to them.

I would not be comfortable with my sons giving out their messenger ID. It's also their eMail and they only have it to communicate with family who lives far away. I was dismayed to see there may have been a younger member in the conference. Through many of their profiles adults can get information the kids don't even think twice about entering.


I do have to say though..... I did find it rather odd that twice now I've said something here and on the same day in their forum there appeared something that made me think "that's weird. That relates directly to what I said in the Happy Hour." For example, when speaking about the KOATTA coming to our events I asked if every KOATTA had an adult who was a member of ATTA. And a few hours later it was suggested on their board that their name be changed because KOATTA suggests they have a parent who plays TT and not all KOATTA members do.

And I wouldn't think much of it, but that also happened about something else I said here.
