A similar thing happened to me recently. A peach colored 109 laff point trapless cat named <snip> got into the elevator with us and contributed to battles with minimal gags forcing us to use our stronger gags and continually tune her up. But when we got to the silos, she circumvented the usual procedures and tried to enter the center silo through a side wall.

While two of us were battling the cogs by the east silo, she stayed by the center silo waiting for us to defeat the cogs at the east silo and jump on the button to unlock the door to the center silo. It appeared that her goal was for us to open the center silo so that she could fight the foreman without joining us in the battle to defeat the cogs of the east silo even though she had enough gags for both. We did not let her fulfill this goal.

Since we never unlocked the door to the center silo, she was unable to go ahead without us. Ultimately, we had to bail out losing all we gained by our efforts. There must be a way to stop toons from doing this.
