I never used the game box code, but I have used a "gift code". There will be a website address you visit where it will a window for you to type the code in. When you go to "payment options" there's a link to the "CD account key".
And for those who don't want to use their credit cards online...
Target now has game cards available for 1 and 3 months. The cards have a subscription code on them. And Disney does take those gift card type of credit cards. Like your mom could put enough for TT onto a charge gift card and use that. Also, she can phone Toontown and give them card information on the telephone.
Also, money is money and I am pretty certain that they would also accept a money order or check, but you'd have to call them up to get that information for certain and to find out where to send it and what information to send with it.
