Yea once a new species is caught, it's as if it gets 'introduced' into gen-pop
where it then gets a new spawn rate, depending on it's base rarity.
I used to think it only seemed like species became more common after catching
the first one because
you have to catch it a first time, hehe, but it definitely
becomes more common after it is added to your shticker book. Some species
seem to maintain their rarity, such as the Grand Piano, Grizzly, and the other
ultra rares. Again, that could be because each species has an initial rarity, and a
spawn rate after getting caught the first time.
Just a few observations from over several hundred hours of fishing hehe
