Looks like everyone else has given some excellent advice already. Take heed to it... dont board the elevators too early..... I usually wait until the very last elevator.... I highly dont recommend that though for you... LOL
But if you wait until theres about 12 people or so left in the lobby, you should have no problem at all fighting the CFO. As for jumping on the crane.... If you havent been succesful fighting the CFO yet, then you may want to stomp goons for a bit and let someone else (maybe slightly more experienced) operate the crane. The CFO is definitly my favorite boss battle, because it gives the best rewards.
