Best of luck!
There are always experienced players at every run. I would say to you just join in, and when in doubt, watch the toons around you.

Above all, ask questions if you do not understand something. There is usually a good reason that you see toons doing what they are doing. General tips are:

In the cfo, pick a place and stay put. You land near a crane with another toon. If you are not going to crane, dont run off, stay near that crane and keep the goons stomped. Above all, most runs that go bad are from toons not staying near their craner, causing the goons to swarm an area and chaos to follow.
But, don't let that opprotunity pass either. Watch what the craners do, how they get the safes lined up, and get a general idea of what to do or what could be helpful to you when craning.

For the CJ, even I am still learning how to do better. A few things I have learned that help would be:

When shooting jurors, the longer you wait to start, the better off you are. Until recently, I didnt realize you got 12 shots only. With cogs taking over constantly, you have to redo the work. It seems any toon landed after 25 seconds left tends to not be replaced, while those seated before get taken over just at the last seconds.

A new thing I am working on is timing in the CJ. All cogs throw evidence at the same time, and in the same rhythms. A position facing the cogs in some what will let you watch their actions and better time your jumps to avoid the thrown evidence.

Dont let the CJ scare you! Understand, the larger the suits on the elevator, the more difficult the battle will be. Take a moment after starting the evidence round to look around. There may be gavels in places you aren't used to seeing gavels, and there could be cogs in front of the CJ and the Elevator that are not always there. If this is the case, get to the evidence stand, and watch the gavels. There are several 'safe' places to stand but you need to look for them. When in doubt, get close to another toon. Chances are, its a safer place to stand.

Does anyone else have tips to share?

Good luck and see you at the runs!
