Dont worry. Everyone's gags looked like after they added the level 7 gag update. You just have to go to the gag shop and buy one gag and your normal gags will reappear. I actually know which of my old friends havent played in a very long time by looking at their gags.
Just reread your original post and realized that this may not be the case. Are your gags simply missing as if you used them up in a strange pattern? Or are you missing your higher level gags? (example: already earned birthday cake but highest gag on your toon is now cream pie.) If that is the case I would contact TT.
