While I traded wins in racing from the very beginning - did a few regular races with rtandoms, but not many - and when friends are on and golfing I have been trading wins golfing, I can see Debbie W's side of things too.
Yesterday, I played with a monkey. We were on 9 hole course, the game was close until one hole that the monkey just didn't have luck with. My toon got the win, the monkey was a good sport and friendly, and off we went.
I saw the monkey near the medium course karts, and asked "Would you like some help?" Monkey said yes, and off we went. Game was close again, but on this one I purposely took crazy shots the last two holes, and monkey won by one stroke. Did I have to do this? No. Did I mind doing this? No. Did the monkey act like he wanted to play with me again? No. Did it do anyone any harm? I don't know. If the monkey is grateful, I say you're welcome. If the monkey is angry that he didn't earn that one particular win, I say I'm sorry.
There is no way to communicate before the game whether you want to trade or not. On test there was some discussion about using the center kart for traders... but that will NEVER work on open unless Disney MARKS THEM SO (since not everyone reads this site).
Debbie W. has let it be known that she does not appreciate being handed a win. She has not ever, that I have seen, said that OTHERS SHOULD STOP trading, just that she doesn't want to earn hers that way. So let it be. Trying to convince someone that your way is the best way is fruitless at best. Unless someone tells you that you as a person are worthless because you choose to trade rather than compete, they aren't INSULTING you, so don't worry about justifying yourself.
If someone were to say to me, your toon shouldn't have as many laff points because you didn't *really* earn them all, THEN I would be offended. But I don't mind hearing that they want to get their laff the old-fashioned way sans insults to my own integrity. To each his own! Toon and let Toon!
