Hmmm, interesting. Looks like your friend could have had the "almost dead" thing happen, which you can get healed from. Dunno about you though.
Did you try to Toonup each other after this happened?
By the way, it looks like the building you were in was a little over your head, for only two toons with your amout of development. Level 9 Cog (the Spin Dr.) on a middle floor, means that there was at least a level 10 boss Cog. So, the building was at least a 3-floor, on Walrus, Sleet or Lullaby. If one of you had Big Magnet, you would have had a chance :)
