Since we have to keep going back to try again, some players who are experienced in sos shopping will walk into the elevator before you get through the VP door. They do this to save time so you won't have to wait (is it 32?) seconds.
It takes you about 13 seconds to talk from the vp door to the elevator. If a toon entered the elevator 20 seconds BEFORE you went through the door, it will already be about 12 seconds before the elevator closes but to you, it has to start at 32.
