It was a freak accident, bit I thought I'd share my experience. My daughter logged in to play Toontown, but there was no sound! I tried everything - checked the game settings, computer sound volume, uninstalling, reinstalling - nothing helped. Then, I remembered I had fooled with the MIDI settings earlier in the day trying to make ringtones. the MIDI settings HAVE to be at 44100 Hz or the sounds don't play. I'd somehow altared them and, well there you go. Hope this helps some poor soul and saves the the hours I wasted backtracking.
