Fair nuff - I have the advantage of running TT Fullscreen and monitoring the tips website on a second PC. BUT - the web version of TIPS is much smaller than the forums (when made large enough to still be readible...)

Reason 2: There are people who don't have TIPS.

This I don't buy. I never had to download anything - TIPS has a web interface. Just register and it works.

Reason 3: Invasions are still posted on this website when they are discovered

Where? I mean I've seen posts about them from time to time, but are they put somewhere else like on the news front page? If they are I've missed them. And when I look at the TIPS invasion history, it looks like TIPS is getting more alerts than the forums here are...so unless I'm missing something (very possible), TIPS is already giving more accurate data.
Now one thought that occurs to me - If TTC's developers and the TIPS developer(s) collaberated, TTC could subscribe to tips.
Either TIPS could send TTC an email to a nonpublished mailbox and TTC could read the mail and post the news (tricky) or TIPS could host a webservice (a trivial exercise in .NET) which TTC could poll (since webservices are platform independent)...probably the polling model is the easier one - so long as TTC only polls periodically (once a minute, per say) and not once per request (ugh, the server load...)
Of course there are other ways...but in any event, I still think TIPS is the better source of info.
